I am getting closer to my goal of using the Pi to turn devices on and off, however before I finish up I need to get homebridge running fully on the Pi(that way it acts as a dedicated homebridge device). To get started I head over to the how to install on a raspberry pi guide

Long exposure Tree Edition, C_LOG_25
Good Morning, today is Christmas! Looking at our tree it was time to recreate something I saw online where you would perform a long exposure of the tree while adjusting the zoom ring.
this was a bit dark so had to adjust aperture
With my first attempt I dialed in the camera to f22, a 6 second exposure, and iso 200. The results . . .
Today I attempted to recreate a missing ornament on our advent tree calendar. Years ago a crafty puppy decided to eat the star. Today I recreated a version out of paper and cardboard. I will fashion a version out of wood in the future but for now this will work.

Relay tied into an extension cord, C_LOG_23
Now that I have the relay hooked up I was able to make the small LEDs on the relay flash it is now time to use it to switch power. Before we get started I would like to state I really don't know what I am doing but do have some basic electrical experience and need to state we are now dealing with 120v which is dangerous. Please be careful . . .

A couple weeks ago I purchased a SunFounder 2channel 5v relay so I can use the Pi to control a device remotely (I am looking at you Mr. Christmas Tree)
